Jennifer Love Hewitt was born February 21, 1979 in Waco Texas, and was raised alone
by her mother in the small town. 'Love' comes from her mother's best friend
in college, but her brother Todd gave her the "Jennifer" part. It was the name of
a girl he had a crush on when he was younger. He said the
name Love may not be cool when she grows up, boy was he wrong.
By age 10 she had developed a song and dance routine and began performing at
local shows and touring with a traveling dance group known as the Texas Show
team.
After relocating to Los Angeles with her mother, Hewitt's career picked up speed
with appearances in several television and print ads, including a popular run in
an L.A.
Best-known to television audiences as
"Sarah Reeves" on the award-winning drama series Party of Five,
Jennifer Love Hewitt's popularity in the role prompted show producers to
spin-off the character into a new drama, Time of Your Life.
All the while, Hewitt was working on her music career. Her debut CD, Love Songs,
was released in Japan in 1992 (it was reissued in the U.S. in 1998). Hewitt
signed with Atlantic records for Let's Go Bang, which was released in 1995, the
same year she landed her breakthrough role on "Party of Five."
Hewitt kicked off her movie career with a supporting role in 1993's Sister Act
2. Since then, she has appeared in 1996's House Arrest and several
straight-to-video releases. Her big screen breakthrough came in 1997 with the
teen thriller I Know What You Did Last Summer. Hewitt also starred in the
movie's 1998 sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
She also contributed
a song to the film's soundtrack, the smash hit How Do I Deal.
In 2000 Hewitt received
critical acclaim as the title role in the ABC Original Movie Audrey
Hepburn, based on the life of the beloved Academy Award-winning actress.
The film dramatized Audrey's life from her traumatic childhood during the Nazi
occupation of Holland in WWII to her celebrated status as an international film
star.
Most recently, Hewitt completed
production on the MGM feature film, Breakers with Sigourney Weaver. In
the comedy, Hewitt and Weaver portray a mother-daughter con team who specialize
in using their feminine wiles to swindle men. The film also features Gene
Hackman, and Ray Liotta and is scheduled for release April 6, 2001.
She likes strawberries with whipped cream and chocolate. Her best
friend's her Mom! Many TV appearances, Movies, loads of interviews, magazine
articles, and her music is absolutely beautiful. Young, talented, Jennifer Love
